SHV board
Quick and easy assessment of utricular function by determining the subjective haptic vertical (SHV) with the SHV board – after Prof. Ernst and Dr Basta.
1. Preparation
To carry out the test, the patient is seated on a padded support, with the feet not touching the floor. Vision is blocked with a sleep mask.
2. Performance
For the assessment, the patient swiftly draws a line that they perceive as vertical on the SHV board – in an upright position and tilted 20° to the right and to the left.
3. Evaluation
Place the evaluation film on the SHV board and read off the results of the test. Simple and quick.
