HASE is a screening test for children between the ages of 4 and 7. Its aim is to identify children with disorders of spoken or written language acquisition. It contains four well-founded task groups: repeating sentences, repeating number sequences, recognising word families and repeating pseudo-words. Its prognostic validity was determined with more than 1,000 children at the end of the third year of primary school. RATZ indices between 39 and 72 make HASE the most prognostically valid procedure currently available in this field. Percentile ranks and T-values are available in half-year steps for children aged 4 to 7.
